Radical Digital Painting: Pg. 7/24

My first days in LA and Highland Park in 2016. I mostly painted this in an Uber and it made me really dizzy.

In-N-Out burgers, pictures of people IRL and AFK and I'm even wearing a ball gag! (My friend was working as a dominatrix at the time and we did a photoshoot together with colored lights for my paintings.) Whatever!

Here I'm staring at the floor of the mall in Little Tokyo. The blue fish at the top is made from my phone charging cable, the light of a JetBlue flight, and Finger Quilt. A childhood drawing by Lydia is on the bottom right.

Inside: Flying over LA, feet on a bed, more dominatrix pics and a sampled flower painting by Laura Owens. This is the third in the TUMPIN subseries.

This sprawling textured painting is filled with language. It's got onions, nipples, and a sampled work by Casey Reas! There's even a Hilma af Klint flower with an elevator button from UCLA for the center!

This painting was distributed as the final project assignment for my UCLA digital painting class in which students had to make a graphics editor of their own design.

Here is a message I think would work well hanging up in high school guidance counselor offices. It reads: "UR WEIRDER THAN THE WEED AND STRONGER THAN THE COFFEE". There is a spider on the bottom right which lived in the bathroom at Chin's Push in LA.

I painted this on a trip to Seattle. It uses a bunch of imagery that I started to build up while living in LA in the Fall of 2016. It's got sides of buildings, friends modeling, cracks in the wall, and cool backpacks!

This is a poem I wrote in VIM. My nieces are featured here as is the Perl 6 logo and traffic on the highway in LA. The monster in the middle of the highway is sampled marbled paper that Lydia gave me.

After visiting the art museum in Seattle I made this painting from a page on Giacometti in a kids book about understanding Modern sculpture.
